From Melbourne to Toronto

Founded in Melbourne, Australia, in 2006, Affect Media is a communications agency with a strong reputation in the international health and education space.  Over the past two decades, we’ve helped thousands of clients worldwide communicate important information, share news, raise funds, and draw attention to important health issues. 

The Affect Media team launched Affect Media Canada in 2022, and we’re thrilled to be here. From our base in Toronto, we service all Canadian provinces and territories. We understand the Canadian healthcare system, and we know how to work within the Canada Health Act.  

Thought leadership in health media

In addition to running Affect Media, our Director, Dr Leanne Downing, regularly publishes academic research in peer-reviewed international journals. Her research covers a range of topics from best practice health communications strategies through to digital media sociology, health sociology, psychosocial studies, grief studies and the history of emotions. IP ownership and copyright for these publications is held by the various academic institutions and publishing houses that host Dr Downing’s research, including Cambridge University Press, Palgrave, Elsevier, La Trobe University, The University of New South Wales, and RMIT University.
